Alinne Barrera, PhD

Alinne Barrera, PhD is a California licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 22835). Her scholarly work is focused on depression prevention, intervention adaptations, and the use of technology to deliver maternal mental health resources. As a trainee, she built a strong foundation in the detection and treatment of major depression using standardized measures and evidence-based interventions. During the past 15 years Dr. Barrera has dedicated her research program to adapting and empirically testing internet and SMS versions of the Mothers and Babies Course/Curso Mamás y Bebés (MB), a prevention of postpartum depression intervention. Dr. Barrera is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Psychology PhD Program at Palo Alto University and serves as Associate Director at the Institute for International Internet Interventions for Health (i4Health). She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley, her doctoral degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.

Katherine Taylor, PsyD, MPH

Katherine Taylor, PsyD, MPH is a licensed clinical psychologist in CA (PSY 29909) focused on ways to provide evidence-based, effective and accessible mental health services to specific target populations, including families in the perinatal period, Veterans and underserved groups.

Her areas of clinical interest in include postpartum adjustment, anxiety, depression and crisis management. Her research involvement has been focused on using technology to enhance dissemination and implementation of public mental health programming. She currently consults with the Mobile Apps team at the National Center for PTSD at the Palo Alto VA Healthcare System, where she helps design and develop free apps for mental health. She has a BA in psychology from Stanford University, an M.P.H in Community Health Sciences from UCLA, and a PsyD from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium. When she’s not thinking about public health, you can find her chasing her two kids and eating Baskin Robbins Winter White Chocolate Ice Cream.
